There are over 445,000 veterans in Wisconsin and another 14,345 active duty and 17,492 National Guard and Reserve serving our country today. Our veterans have served this nation with honor and dignity and their sacrifice deserves the highest recognition.

With the war in Afghanistan and our troops in Iraq, we must support Wisconsin's veterans and ensure  that they receive the benefits they have earned. This is why I voted to update the GI BIll to make it work for veterans today as it did for those returning from WWII and Korea.
